What we collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address and name. When you use SaveMeTutor, we collect the study materials (PDFs) you upload and the practice answers and progress you generate while studying — this is what lets us build and update your study plan and readiness scores.

Where your uploads go

Uploaded PDFs are sent to our server and processed by a third-party AI service (DeepSeek) to build your study plan. That processing happens on servers that may be located outside your country. If you upload a scanned or photographed PDF, page images may be sent to OpenAI to read the text; OpenAI does not use API data to train models by default.

How long we keep things

Your uploaded PDFs are removed from the compiler service once the compile job that builds your study plan finishes. The PDF you uploaded, a plain-text copy of its text (so practice can quote your notes), your account data, the study plan generated from your material, and any payment receipt you upload are kept on our server (hosted with Hetzner, in the EU) for as long as your account is active. We don't yet offer self-serve deletion — email support@startuplab24.com to have your data deleted. Nightly backups of our server are kept for 14 days.

Payment receipts

If you pay by JazzCash or Easypaisa, the receipt you upload is seen only by you and our admin, and is used only to confirm your payment.

Written practice and quiz checks

When you use written practice or we check quiz questions, short passages of your uploaded notes and your typed answers are sent to TypeSafe AI to judge them. We never send your name or email. TypeSafe does not train or fine-tune any model on this data.

Shared MDCAT knowledge

When you upload notes, we pick out short MDCAT facts (like “mitochondria — produce — ATP”). If other students’ notes contain the same fact, it joins the shared SaveMeTutor knowledge base that we use to write practice questions for everyone. We never share your notes, your name or your wording — only the short fact. This is on by default; you can turn it off on your dashboard at any time, and it then stops for future uploads. If you delete your account, your link to every fact is removed, and a fact stays shared only if other students’ notes still support it.

Question reviews

If you report a question, or turn on “Help improve SaveMeTutor” on your dashboard, our reviewers may see that question and text from your notes that it came from. They are not shown your account name or email. Before they see anything we remove your name, email addresses, phone numbers, CNIC numbers and links, and we delete it about 90 days after the review is finished.

Usage analytics

We record anonymous usage steps (for example, that an upload was started) to improve the product; these never include your notes or answers.

We do not sell your data

We do not sell your personal data or study materials to anyone, for any purpose.
